How far in advance should I request a ride?
Advance notice gives us the best opportunity to review vehicle availability and trip details. Recurring and long-distance trips should be requested as early as possible. A request is not confirmed until National Transit contacts you.
Do you provide wheelchair-accessible rides?
Yes, when an appropriate accessible vehicle is available and the rider’s wheelchair and boarding needs can be safely accommodated. Share equipment information during the request.
Can a family member or attendant ride?
A companion, guardian, interpreter, or personal care attendant may travel when arranged in advance and space is available. Include every traveler in the request.
Do drivers wait during appointments?
Waiting is not automatic. Tell us the expected appointment duration and whether a return trip is required so we can review the request and confirm the arrangement.
Do you provide emergency or stretcher transportation?
No. National Transit is a non-emergency transportation provider. We do not provide ambulances, stretcher transportation, medical monitoring, or emergency care. Call 911 for an emergency.
Can I use insurance or Medical Assistance?
Coverage depends on verified participation, eligibility, authorization, and trip rules. Confirm payment arrangements before the ride. Insurance information will be published only after National Transit verifies it.
What if my appointment changes?
Contact National Transit as soon as possible. A new time or destination may require a new availability review and may not be possible with the original vehicle or driver schedule.
